WELL GEDACHT FACTORY OUTLET
7" Vinyl with linocut print label
Limited Edition of 15
Cut live at Schönbrunner Str. 6 - 20.04.2017
A live recording incorporating automated MIDI technology, a rundown drum machine, various analog and digital synths. Stormtrap Asifeh, Levni and Kolonel Blip performed same 3 tracks repeatedly, resulting with 29 unique recordings on 15 copies of 7" vinyl. "Fi Hadal Habs", a track which was performed by all three artist, has become a chiptune hommage to its original version with its spaced out vocals. "Tropical Fantasy" from Kolonel's Well Gedacht release "Rumble Tumble" & Levni's hit "SSS" became one in this joint track, resulting in an addictive tune with videogame-esque aesthetics. Additionaly, Stormtrap pushed the Vinylograph to its limits with his variational beat seat, playing beats from his upcoming release.
The Vinylograph is an automated vinyl cutting machine designed and constructed by Vienna–based artists Natascha Muhić and Christoph
Freidhöfer, and inspired by record booths from the 1940s. You sing/speak into the microphone, while the sound is cut into vinyl. Special thing about it is that the records are all cut in real-time, directly. Which also means that all along surrounding sounds (might) get captured as well. Every Vinylograph record cut is a singleton.
